Ron Long Photography

Ron Long had a thirty-six year career as the sciences photographer at Simon Fraser University. During this time he picked up a great deal of biological knowledge and developed a deep interest in nature.

He is active in both the photographic and naturalist communities in British Columbia, and lectures extensively on both photographic and nature subjects. He had a parallel career teaching photography at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Now retired, Ron travels to nature hotspots around the world to photograph plants, birds and animals as material for his lectures.
Ron is past president of the Native Plant Society of BC and past president of the Scientific and Industrial Photographers Association of BC.

Since 2000 he has coordinated a biodiversity study on Pink Mountain with the objective of protecting this unique site.
